Project Progress

In connection with our Theory of Change, the Empowering Women and Girls project works across several outcomes to lead to meaningful and sustainable change for women and girls. We work to improve the realisation of human rights and a life of dignity for women and girls from disadvantaged communities in the defined geographical areas of Bangladesh, Malawi, Mozambique, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Improved empowerment of women and girls, including women and girls with disabilities, from disadvantaged communities to assert their equality of rights and deal with dominant social norms that perpetuate gender inequality and gender-based violence. A set of outputs will contribute to this Intermediate Outcome. The outputs reflect the products and services that contribute to improved awareness and increased capacity among women and girls and other stakeholders.

The outputs associated with achieving the outcomes reflect the changes in the structural causes of gender inequality in economic participation. These products/services help to increase the capacity of women and girls, with or without disability, to exercise their freedom of choice in employment. This contributes to the realisation of their right to productive employment and decent jobs.
